Performance Description: Headwires are a young hard rock band from the inner west of Sydney! Formed originally in 2005 with
original members Ned and Ben, Headwires has evolved from a garage cover band into the absolutely original robot sex machine
that you know today. They’ve taken influence from Smashing Pumpkins, Queens of the Stone Age, Rise Against and Biffy Clyro.
They love playing gigs of any kind just for the love of performing.

Max Wilkinson

Performance Description: 17 year old singer/songwriter Max Wilkinson has been dabbling in the field of music for a few good
years now. He released his "Beaded Bracelet Demo" in mid 2007, and he has just finished recording his second demo "Left
Listeners Demo". He will be stepping into the studio to record his debut EP at the end of the year. Wilkinson provides his listeners
with a calm experience through his warm acoustic sound built from melodic vocal and guitar parts. Max has played countless
venues including Acer Arena, The Harp Folk Hotel, The Acoustica Festival and many, many more...

GUAVA

Performance Description :
Formed in early 2007, Guava’s sound is a mixed collection of music styles and influences from all over the world set to western
concepts of song writing. The four-piece includes sax, bass, drums and acoustic guitar along with the strong melody and harmony
of their collective voices. Guava has recently been defined as 'tribal-pop' although they’re not ready to be boxed by classification.
Robust, funky, afro, energetic and soulful are more fitting associations (think Cat Empire and Dave Matthews Band). Guava is
full of life and wanting to impact their audience.

Mj Woodbridge
Performer Name: Michael Woodbridge – Guitar/ Vocals
Age: 22
Performance Description: MjWoodbridge, born Michael James on 25th April 1986, grew up in Newcastle N.S.W. until he was 18.
He had been writing poetry and hip hop rhymes since he was 15, it wasn’t until mid last year when he enrolled in a music course
that the realisation of becoming a songwriter was what he wanted to do as a career choice. Currently studying a Diploma in a
Contemporary music performance at Eora College in Darlington, Michael has also been pro-active booking his own solo acoustic
sets weekly in pubs and clubs around Sydney. He is also hard at work venturing into other styles, writing, producing and collaborating
with other talented artists in other genres such as Hip Hop, electro, and dance, as well as working trying to get a band together.

Performance Description:
I’m a 25 yr old singer/songwriter from Erskineville. My style is acoustic/ rock/ folk. I’ve been writing songs since I was 16 and in the
last 6 months I’ve started to perform more.

Temper Temper

Performance description: Fledgling act Temper are an acoustic duo formed during the last throes of 2007 by Chris Raymond (bass)
and Ash Carter (acoustic guitar). Their primary influences are Leonard Cohen with a little Soundgarden. They are based in Surry
Hills and currently studying at Sydney University while attempting to establish themselves in the Sydney live music scene with
regular gigs.

Performance Description:
J.R is an indigenous musician, poet, and a human rights campaigner with a strong social consciousness. J.R. draws upon his
Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Maori Heritage as well as the musical teachings of his parents. This coupled with his
experience as a musician, radio broadcaster and at times, a lost indigenous Australian, pushes him to create music that is
rich in content, context and highly celebrated. JR will host Stage 1 at smARtarts festival, and will also run a Write for Rhyme:
Hip Hop Workshop at the festival.

The Inner West has spawned a new ethereal entity who go by the name of 'Raise The Crazy'. RTC's sortie is to share their parables
on growing up in the hard knock life of the Inner West through rock n' roll mayhem which will stand the test of time and remain relevant for future generations of social misfits and the young disillusioned. RTC gives hope where there is none. RTC loves like no-one else can love. In a generation of apathy towards society and towards each other, RTC are taking their heart and soul to the streets and appealing to the young people of today to help them Raise The Crazy!

when the boys were together at Newtown primary school, now they are  15 and in different highschools and still play together
and write their own material, influences from soft accoustic to heavy Rock!! (Rage against the Machine, like Siverchair and
and more).
